Our Students at Aveda Institute Portland have got some serious talent. Of all their time in school, there is no better time to put their talent to the test then our annual Evening 4 Earth Event. The event is a student run fashion show, open to the public, all ticket sales for the evening are donated to Hopkins Demonstration Forest. Students sign up to participate in various way to make the show happen, perhaps the most grueling is the hair and makeup team.
The Looks
This years theme was 2017 trends, which meant there was a range of looks, starting from street style to avant garde. Students who signup to be on the hair and makeup team attend a team meeting, where they are assigned looks, models and team mates. From there students work on their looks in their free time, perfecting every strand of hair and every flick of liner before the big event!
The Hustle
Day of students experience the organized madness that comes with putting on a big show. All day student teams are primping and prepping for the big night! Instructors circle the floor assisting teams with their looks and at 5pm students get themselves ready for the big night!
The Portfolio
Students not only get to see their model on the runway but they also receive a professional photo for their portfolio. This not only gives students that chance to capture their work but also to see how their work translates when photographed.
The Party
When the event starts models hit the runway and there is nothing like the feeling of seeing your working stage! This year the audience crowded the stage watching the models and the instructors do their demos.
